New York City Center Joins Our Network!
Organisational Members
Founded in 1943, New York City Center has played a defining role in the cultural life of New York City, serving as a vibrant home for the performing arts. Established by Mayor Fiorello La Guardia as Manhattan’s first performing arts center, New York City Center was built on a mission to make the arts accessible to the widest possible audience.
At the core of New York City Center’s work is a strong commitment to diverse, inspiring programming that reflects the energy, openness, and creativity of the city itself. The institution presents internationally renowned series and festivals such as the Fall for Dance Festival and the Tony-honored Encores! series of musical theater revival, alongside performances by leading artists and companies from around the world.
New York City Center’s mission is guided by values of curiosity, collaboration, accessibility, and inclusivity. Through extensive education and community engagement programs, the organisation reaches thousands of students, teachers, and families across all five boroughs of New York City, fostering lasting connections with the performing arts.
The institution is led by President & CEO Michael S. Rosenberg. Together with Jenny Gersten, VP & Artistic Director, Musical Theater, Stanford Makishi, VP & Artistic Director, Dance, and a dedicated team, they position New York City Center as a hub for artistic creation, exchange, and cultural dialogue.
We are proud to welcome New York City Center to the FEDORA Network and look forward to developing shared initiatives that champion dance, musical theater, and live performance on an international scale.
